Major Cardiff consent
MEPC has secured outline planning permission for a 46,450 sq m (500,000 sq ft) new phase for its office scheme at Callaghan Square in Cardiff, Wales. The proposal comprises six buildings ranging in height between four and 12 storeys. Savills advise.
E18 completion in autumn
MEPC and Rightacres are planning to complete the 2,780 sq m (30,000 sq ft) E18 building at Phase 2 of Callaghan Square in Cardiff in September 2006. The building has been pre let.
Cardiff Bay's £700m mixed use scheme
Cardiff County Council has chosen gaming firm Aspers to operate the casino and entertainment complex at Cardiff's proposed £700m International Sports Village in Cardiff Bay. Orion Land & Leisure has already been appointed to develop the scheme, which will include a conference centre, an indoor snow slope, a 4,000-seat multi-purpose arena, an ice rink suitable for international competition, a 250-room hotel and waterfront bars, restaurants and administrative offices. The government is yet to grant consent to build a casino on the Sport Village’s 80 acre (32 ha) site.
March finish for Rightacre scheme.
Rightacre's 1,860 sq m (20,000 sq ft) office development on Penarth Road will reach practical completion by the end of March. The building has been let and was marketed by DTZ and Knight Frank. The architect was CWA.
Phased refit from Admiralty.
Admiralty Properties is planning to begin a floor-by-floor refurbishment of 3,716 sq m (40,000 sq ft) of office space at Park View, Greyfrairs Road, Cardiff. The first floor will be refurbished speculatively and is expected to take six months. The remaining floors will be refitted as potential occupiers show an interest in them. A main contractor has not been appointed yet but one is expected to be soon. The letting agent is Knight Frank.
